Kanwar Yatra 2025: The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) on Thursday stated that the timings of Namo Bharat will change for the much-hyped Kanwar Yatra. While providing details, the authority stated that the trains will be available five minutes earlier in the morning and evening for the next few weeks. Apart from this, the trains will be available every 10 minutes from 8 am to 11 am and 5 pm to 8 pm. However, the NCRTC clarified that the trains will operate on the regular interval in the other parts of the day. The authority stated that the decision was taken due to the expected large crowd of devotees on roads due to the yatra.
The NCRTC further stated that the early operation of trains will significantly provide relief to the commuters, especially to the office employees. A large number of devotees travel to Haridwar during Sawan to bring Kanwar and Ganga water. The local administration releases traffic advisories at various places to manage the crowd. The operation of the vehicles gets affected due to the congestion, leading to inconveniences for the commuters. However, the early operation of the trains will provide relief.

Earlier last week, the authority had stated that the construction work is ongoing at the stations of the Namo Bharat Corridor in Meerut. The administration has arranged all the facilities and has also announced diversions and traffic restrictions, as the devotees are likely to pass along the same route.
Apart from this, the Meerut traffic police on Thursday stated that several key roads of the city will remain closed on Thursday night due to the Kanwar Yatra. The authority informed that entry of heavy vehicles will be banned on the Delhi-Dehradun Highway during the night hours. It further stated that only one lane of this highway will be opened for the vehicles on July 14.
The traffic police stated that while the devotees will be allowed to walk on one of the lanes, the vehicles will operate on the other one. The police officials will also be deployed to assist the vehicles to operate on the alternative routes for the next few days.
