Neha Murder Case:  In a gut-wrenching incident captured on camera, the daughter of a local Congress councillor was stabbed to death on Thursday by a classmate at the premises of her college in Karnataka's Hubballi. Neha Hiremath, a 21-year-old BCA student at KLE Technological University, was stabbed multiple times by one of her classmates and alleged one-sided lover Fayaz, according to the police.

The accused Fayaz could be seen stabbing Neha multiple times on her neck in a video which is now doing rounds over social media. Even though police are yet to ascertain the reason behind the motive of the accused, many reports suggest that Fayaz murdered Neha after she rejected his proposal. Fayaz, a resident of Savadatti in Belagavi district, was nabbed by police after the incident. He had fled the scene after carrying out the heinous crime.

“On Thursday, he came to college with a knife and stabbed Neha multiple times. He was nabbed with the help of locals and is presently in police custody,” the officer said as quoted by The Indian Express.

Neha Karnataka Murder: Accused's father a government teacher

The officer further added that Fayaz's father works as a government school teacher. He stopped going to college some six months ago after failing his examinations, however, came on Thursday and attacked Neha with a knife, he added.

According to a police officer, Neha's body has been transferred to Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospital. A case has been filed, and an investigation is underway.

BJP attacks state Congress govt

Bharatiya Janata Party lashed out at the ruling Congress after the stabbing incident came to light. The party called the incident a culmination of the appeasement politics of the Congress party on its official 'X' channel.

"Anarchy is the mission of governance - law and order is a nightmare. It is the administrative mantra of @INCKarnataka Govt. CM @siddaramaiah himself, this is the result of anarchy and nepotism rule, Fayaz stabbed to death Neha Hiremath, a student of BVB College, Hubli in the middle of the day. Answer how many more innocent Hindus you will sacrifice for your appeasement regime," the party said in the X post.
