Karnataka Weather: According to the forecast by the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC), heavy rain is expected to lash Mysuru, Hassan, Belagavi and multiple other districts over the next two days. Meanwhile, capital city Bengaluru is likely to witness light to moderate rain activity accompanied by thunderstorms. Bengaluru will also experience gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph.

An orange alert has been issued for August 6 in South Interior Karnataka. Very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning is likely during this time. The affected districts include - Mysuru, Hassan, and Mandya.

Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued till August 8. During this time, isolated heavy rainfall will hit areas including - Bagalkot, Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura, and Yadgir. Gusty winds are also likely during this time.

On August 9, light to moderate rain/thundershowers with gusty wind (30-40 kmph) is likely to occur at most places over Bagalkot, Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalburgi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura and Yadgir districts.

On August 10, light to moderate rain is likely to occur in many places over Bagalkot, Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalburgi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura and Yadgir districts.

For Coastal Karnataka, an orange alert has been issued for August 6 and 7. As per the weather body, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is expected in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada.
