Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several districts of Karnataka are likely to witness cold waves and dense fog at least till December 25. The weather department stated that the minimum temperature in many regions of interior Karnataka remained below normal in the past few days. It further stated that the residents of south interior Karnataka and isolated places in the northern regions are likely to witness dense fog for the next three to four days. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings in the morning hours to avoid inconveniences.

While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Bidar, Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Yadgir, Raichur, Gadag, Koppal, Dharwad, Haveri, Bellary, Vijayanagar, Chitradurga, Davangere, Mysore, Mandya, Tumkur, Hassan, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Chikkamagaluru, and Shivamogga, are likely to witness a cold wave for the next three to four days. The weather department stated that the minimum temperature is likely to significantly drop in some of the districts, such as Raichur, Bidar, Vijayapura, and Davanger.

The weather department also stated that the residents of Bengaluru are also likely to witness fog and cold waves, especially in the morning hours. The presence of fog is likely to reduce the visibility, leading to inconveniences for the commuters. While the maximum temperature of the capital city is likely to be calculated at 27 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 14 degrees Celsius.

The IMD stated that the minimum temperature in interior Karnataka is not likely to change for the next five days; however, the temperature is expected to increase by two to three degrees Celsius after that. It further stated that similar weather conditions are likely to be experienced by the residents of other southern states, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Telangana.
