Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday stated that several districts of Karnataka are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next six to seven days. The weather department informed that while the coastal regions are expected to receive heavy rainfall, along with thunderstorms and gusty winds, the other parts of the state are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall. The IMD stated that the rainfall is also likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. The IMD has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

Karnataka: These districts to witness rainfall

- The weather department stated that several districts, including Belgaum, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura, Yadgir, Bellary, Chikkaballapur, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Davangere, Kodagu, Kolar, Shivamogga, Tumkur, and Vijayanagara are likely to witness heavy rainfall till August 19.

- The IMD also stated that the costal regions of Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, and Udupi will also witness heavy to very heavy rainfall for the next few days.

- A low pressure area is likely to form over northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal, leading to the rainfall.

- The weather department has advised the fishermen to limit their financial activities and maintain a distance from the water bodies to avoid inconveniences.

Bengaluru weather forecast for next few days

- The IMD emphasised that Bengaluru is likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall till August 19

- Continuous rainfall is expected to reduce the maximum temperature by two to four degrees Celsius

- Several key areas of the city are likely to witness waterlogging due to the rainfall

- The weather department has advised the residents to carry umbrella and limit the unnecessary outings

Apart from Karnataka, several other states, including Telangana, Maharashtra, and Gujarat are also likely to witness rainfall for the next few days.
