Karnataka weather update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday stated that several districts of Karnataka are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that the coastal regions are set to receive very heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds. The other districts, including the capital city Bengaluru, are likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall at least till August 23. The continuous rainfall is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. The weather department advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that Coastal and Malnad districts are set to witness very heavy rainfall for the next few days. "Scattered to widespread light to moderate rain and isolated heavy rain with strong winds across the state. Coastal and Malnad districts are likely to receive the heaviest rainfall from today to August 20 and the heaviest on the 19th," Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
