Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday stated that most of the Karnataka districts are likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that the coastal districts are also expected to receive thunderstorms and gusty winds, along with heavy rainfall. The continuous rainfall is likely to lead to a flood-like situation in the lower regions and traffic disruption in the cities. The weather department has asked the district administrations to make all the preparations and stay alert. Apart from this, it also advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Belgaum, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Bagalkot, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayanagar, Yadgir, and Bellary, are likely to witness heavy rainfall for the next few days. It further stated that the continuous rainfall is likely to lead to flood-like situations in the Haveri region, leading to inconveniences for the residents.
Apart from this, several other districts such as Bangalore City, Bangalore Rural, Mandya, Mysore, Kolar, Tumkur, Shivamogga, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Davangere, Chitradurga, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, and Ramanagara are also likely to witness light to moderate rainfall.
The capital city, Bengaluru, is also expected to receive light rain, along with gentle breezes and cloudy skies. The maximum temperature in the city will be 26.5 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will reach 20 degrees Celsius, the Meteorological Department said.
The weather department also stated that several other southern and western states, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Telangana, are set to witness moderate to heavy rainfall for the next few days. It further advised the fishermen to follow the guidelines and maintain a distance from the water bodies to avoid inconveniences.
