Kerala Hijab Controversy: In a fresh update to the hijab controversy at a Church-run school in Kerala’s Ernakulam district, the parents of the Class 8 student who was prevented from wearing a hijab have decided to transfer her to another school, citing the stress she has experienced. Meanwhile, the institution St Rita's Public School in Palluruthy has said she is welcome to continue her studies there, provided she adheres to its rules.

The student’s father told PTI that she would not be sent back to the school. "My daughter has been under severe stress after the hijab incident. She clearly said she doesn't want to return, so we decided to respect her wishes", he said.

The family has already approached other schools for admission. “We are in talks with one school that has agreed to admit her, but we are exploring all available options,” he added.
