In a shocking incident, a sex worker was found murdered in Kochi, Kerala, with her body wrapped in a plastic sack within the compound of a house. A man has been arrested in connection with the crime.
Police officials reported that the woman's body was discovered on Saturday, November 22, and the suspect has been identified as George KK, a resident of Konthuruthi.
According to the police, George brought the woman, who was a sex worker, to his home from near South Girls' High School in Thevara on the night of November 21. The two had an argument over money, and in a fit of anger, George struck her on the head with an iron bar, intending to kill her.
“During questioning, George admitted to the crime. He stated that he tried to drag her body out of the house to dispose of it, but he collapsed before he could finish," Kochi Superintendent of Police Sibi Tom told PTI.
The police further revealed that George tried to get help from local residents to remove the body, claiming it was the remains of a pet animal. The body, found on the tiled courtyard beside the house, was first noticed by members of the ‘Haritha Karma Sena’ cleaning squad, they said.
The cleaning squad informed the local councillor, who then contacted the police. Initial investigations have confirmed that the death was a murder.
Authorities added that bloodstains were discovered inside the house, and further questioning of the suspect has provided details about the method and cause of the crime. The investigation is ongoing to determine more information about the victim, who is believed to be from Pakakkad district.
