Kolkata Law College Gangrape Case: In a chilling development in the Kolkata Law College gangrape case, another student has levelled molestation charges against the prime accused Manojit Mishra, stating that he molested at least 15 other girls.
Speaking about her ordeal, the student alleged that Manojit had molested her during a college trip two years ago. Mishra had threatened to kill her parents and sister, so she could not muster the courage to go to the police station and complain at that time.
The college authorities have expelled three accused from the institute. The main accused, Mishra, a TMC activist who was a contractual employee in the college, is among those expelled from the institute. Along with Mishra, co-accused Zaib Ahmed and Pramit Mukherjee have also been expelled.
Both are students of the college. All three were arrested. A show cause notice will also be sent to the security agency appointed for the security of the institute campus.
The nine-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Kolkata Police, while examining the phone call detail record (CDR), also found evidence of a conversation between Manojit and the college's vice principal Dr. Nayana Chatterjee on the morning after the crime. The police have questioned the VP to know the details of their conversation. On the other hand, the public prosecutor in Alipore Court on Tuesday claimed that the accused had given the inhaler to the victim on the day of the incident not to help her but to rape her. The police demanded 10 days of additional custody for all the arrested accused in court.
