To ease passenger travel, metro officials in Kolkata have decided to change the display board and passenger announcement system on the blue line. The blue line, which is considered the ‘lifeline’ for the commuters in Kolkata, was plagued with a lot of problems during the peak festive time period of Durga Puja.
At some places, the timetable, which displayed train information, stopped abruptly. The passengers complained that the display boards were made useless to cover up the daily irregularities. But in reality, they got worse. Somehow, they were repaired by patching it up.
