Kota Dussehra Mela: In an unfortunate incident, an elephant carrying Lord Laxminarayan's idol lost control at the Dussehra fair in Kota, Rajasthan, causing panic. The elephant charged towards the crowd despite the mahout's efforts, leading people to scramble for safety.

Some jumped over barricades, and a few fell in the chaos. Fortunately, no one was trampled, but the elephant did knock down an electric pole. The incident could have been disastrous if people had been crushed under its feet.

Lord Laxminarayan Procession

A procession, which has divine space among the Hindu population, featured several tableaux, including depictions of the battle between Lord Ram's army and Ravana's army.

Devotees lined the route, chanting slogans in praise of Lord Laxminarayan. Meanwhile, members of the Sahariya and Bhil tribes showcased cultural performances.

Rain Affects Kota’s Dussehra Celebration

Kota is famous for installing one of the tallest Ravana effigies in India, but the celebration was affected as the effigy failed to burn completely due to rain.
