A 30-year-old Bangladeshi woman who was sent to India for a job was trafficked in Bengaluru. In a miraculous turn of events, the woman managed to escape her captors and sought help from the traffic police on September 7. The victim gained consciousness while she was held captive and ran to the main road.

She was semi-conscious when she asked for help from a traffic police officer near Hulimavu and pleaded for assistance, who immediately called his colleague, and the matter was disposed of after she was taken to the Hulimavu police station for questioning.

According to a report by The Hindu, during the investigation, it was revealed that the woman, who is married and a mother of two, was promised a decent job at Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 at a beauty parlour in Bengaluru and was sent to India. Only after reaching India, the woman realised that a human trafficking gang had trafficked her.

She was drugged as she was taken to a home in HSR Layout. Later, the woman was transported to an unknown location on Bannerghatta Road in a car with two men. The woman revealed that she managed to flee the site as she saw men drinking alcohol after she gained consciousness.

Authorities have since placed her in the care of a local NGO and are working with relevant agencies on the deportation process. The incident came to light amid an ongoing crackdown on human trafficking in Bengaluru.
