Uttarakhand Weather Update: The monsoon rains have slowed down in Uttarakhand. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the next few days for heavy rains with thunder in the mountainous regions and heavy showers with lightning in the plains. The temperatures are expected to remain higher than normal in the coming days.
Increase In Temperature Expected
On Monday, Dehradun and its surrounding areas experienced varying weather conditions. The day began with cloudy skies, though some places saw bright sunshine. By evening, dense clouds gathered in several areas, bringing intermittent rainfall. In the hilly regions, clouds persisted throughout the day, accompanied by spells of heavy rain in many locations. Due to the sunshine in most parts, temperatures rose, with the maximum temperature recorded at two to three degrees Celsius above the seasonal average.
Meanwhile on Tuesday, PM Modi took stock of the flood and landslides situation in Himachal Pradesh and announced a financial assistance of Rs 1,500 crore for the hill state on Tuesday. The announcement comes after PM Modi reached Kangra after conducting an aerial survey of disaster-hit Mandi and Kullu districts.
PM Modi asked for a Multi-dimensional view to be taken to get the entire region and people back on its feet. These would be done through multiple ways, like rebuilding homes through PM Awas Yojana, restoration of national highways, rebuilding schools, provision of relief under PMNRF, along with the release of Mini Kits for livestock.
