Actor Darshan on Tuesday received a rapping from the court during a hearing in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case where he requested his transfer from Parappana Agrahara Central Prison to Ballari jail citing poor jail conditions. Darshan, along with actress Pavithra Gowda and several others, is accused of abducting and torturing 33-year-old Renukaswamy, a fan who allegedly sent obscene messages to Pavithra.

During the hearing, Darshan got emotional and stated that he had not seen the sun for 30 days and that his hands were affected by a fungal infection. "Just poison me, please pass this order,” he told the judge, as quoted by PTI.

Rejecting the request, the judge in the city court in Bengaluru admonished him and instructed him not to repeat the statement.

The court said there were no valid grounds for the transfer but allowed certain concessions within the prison. Darshan, accused number two in the case, will now be permitted to walk within the prison premises.

The court also approved his plea for basic facilities, including an extra bed, pillow, and bedsheet, while stressing that all provisions must comply with the prison manual.

Renukaswamy Murder Case

Darshan had confessed to torturing Renukaswamy brfore murdering him. According to the 3,991-page chargesheet, Darshan admitted to hitting Renukaswamy with a tree branch and kicking him repeatedly on the head, chest and near the neck. He also revealed that he instructed his fans to kidnap Renukaswamy and "teach him a lesson".

The chargesheet highlights that Pavithra Gowda instigated the other accused, conspired with them and participated in the crime, making her a key figure in the case.
