Goa Nitghclub Fire: A resurfaced account from a tourist has drawn fresh attention to the “suffocating” layout of Goa’s Romeo Lane, the Vagator nightclub associated with the Luthra brothers. The tourist warned that “such incidents will continue” if structural issues are not addressed. The renewed spotlight comes as Goa authorities intensify their crackdown on properties linked to the duo.

25 people were charred to death after a fire broke out at the nightclub on December 7. The Goa Police revealed that thw owners - Luthra brothers, booked the flight to Thailand's Phuket while their club was on fire and departed before dawn.

Vaibhavi, a tourist who had visited Romeo Lane on November 1 with her cousins recalled that the nightclub had only one elevated entry and exit, giving it a congested layout.

“The club is built in such a suffocating way, with only one entry and exit at a height. The staff spoke rudely and behaved inappropriately," Vaibhavi said.

Tourist Highlights Rude Staff, Assault By Bouncers

Vaibhavi stated that when her group was about to leave at 3 am, there was a disagreement over a chair. She claimed that the manager assaulted her cousin and called the bouncers saying that the group had damaged the property.

“They chased us, raised their hands at us, and hit people in groups. They pushed my sister so hard she fell down the stairs," she said.

Vaibhavi also stated that a bouncer threatened her brother with a rod and hit her when she intervened. She further alleged that an FIR was filed the next morning however the owners’ names were removed. “If women’s safety and tourist safety aren’t taken seriously, such incidents will continue in Goa," she said.
