PM Narendra Modi on Sunday took oath as Prime Minister for the third term at 7.15 PM today at Rashtrapati Bhavan equalling the record of the first prime minister of the country, Jawaharlal Nehru, who held the office in 1952, 1957 and 1962. In this swearing-in ceremony, former Haryana CM and newly elected MP from Karnal, Manohar Lal Khattar also got a place in the Union Cabinet.
Former Haryana CM Khattar took oath as a cabinet minister on Sunday along with several other leaders including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, JP Nadda, Piyush Goyal among others. Manohar Lal was the ninth to take oath as a cabinet minister after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cabinet ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, JP Nadda, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Nirmala Sitharaman and Dr S Jaishankar.
Manohar Lal Khattar Has Been CM of Haryana Twice
Born in Rohtak, Haryana, Manohar Lal has held the post of CM twice in the state. In the year 2014, he was given a ticket for the assembly elections by the Centre. When he contested assembly polls in 2014, no one had expected he would become the CM. In 2019, a coalition government was formed once again in the elections and he was made the CM again.

Resigned In 2024 And Contested Lok Sabha Elections From Karnal Seat
In year 2024, a big political upheaval was seen in Haryana when Manohar Lal resigned from the post of CM and staked his claim in the Lok Sabha elections from Karnal and he also managed to win this Lok Sabha seat.
Amit Shah And Rajnath Singh Had Given This Indication
In the public rally held during the Lok Sabha elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had given a hint in their speeches that the central leadership has big plans for him. After that, it was almost certain that he would get a place in the Union Cabinet in today's swearing-in ceremony.
