Mother Dairy, Amul Milk Prices: In a much-welcome move for households across the country, the government has officially announced a price cut on packaged milk. Following a key decision at the latest GST Council meeting, packaged milk will no longer attract the 5 per cent Goods and Services Tax (GST) and that means milk prices are about to dip.

This new GST rates will come into effect on Starting September 22, 2025, brands like Amul and Mother Dairy will reduce their prices as the GST is removed from packaged milk products. For consumers, this translates to lower bills and more savings on an everyday essential.

The government says the decision is aimed at making milk more affordable for all, especially as inflation continues to bite. Milk is considered a staple in most Indian households whether for children, tea, or cooking and removing GST is meant to ease the financial pressure on families.
