The ten-year-old boy who fell into an open borewell in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district has passed away after being rescued. The boy, identified as Sumit, was trapped at a depth of 39 feet in the borewell while playing near a field in the Janjali area of Raghogarh town on Saturday evening.

The rescue operation, which began late Saturday night, saw the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team from Bhopal joining local authorities. The team worked through the night, using bulldozers and excavation equipment to dig a 10-foot horizontal tunnel and reach the boy. The operation was complicated by water in the borewell, but oxygen was continuously supplied to Sumit throughout the process to ensure his survival.
