Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated 184 flats dedicated to Members of Parliament on Delhi’s Baba Kharak Singh Marg. These 184 flats are constructed across four towers, named after rivers Krishna, Godavari, Kosi, and Hooghly.

The complex is designed to be self-sufficient and is equipped with a full range of modern amenities to address the functional needs of the MPs. Incorporating green technology, the project adheres to the standards of the GRIHA 3-star rating and complies with the National Building Code (NBC) 2016, a press release said.

All About Type-VII Complex

  1. According to a government release, each apartment offers around 5,000 square feet of carpet area, featuring an office space, staff accommodation and residential area. 
  2. The complex features four towers - Krishna, Godavari, Kosi, and Hooghly - constructed using cutting-edge methods, including monolithic concrete with aluminium shuttering. This innovative approach ensured timely completion and enhanced durability. 
  3. All buildings in the complex are disability friendly and earthquake-resistant. 
  4. To address land constraints in the Capital and minimise maintenance costs, the government opted for vertical construction, ensuring efficient use of space while reducing long-term expenses.
  5. The complex features a modern security system to ensure resident safety and a community centre designed for social gatherings and official functions, providing a versatile space for MPs to connect and host events.
