Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana:  The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday announced that the Delhi government cabinet has approved the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana. This move comes ahead of the Delhi Assembly poll, which is likely to be held around early 2025.

Under this scheme, a monthly financial assistance of Rs 1000 will be given to eligible women in Delhi. The initiative aims to improve the quality of life of underprivileged women in the capital city.

“I had promised ₹1000 per month for women of Delhi. And I am happy to announce that CM Atishi’s cabinet has approved this scheme today. Now women can register and avail this scheme,” Kejriwal stated to the press on December 12.

He went on to say that if the AAP wins back power in the next elections, it should rise to Rs 2,100.

The Cabinet Note states that almost 38 lakh women may qualify for the cash transfer program, and that an annual budget of Rs 4560 crore is needed to give them Rs 1000 a month.
