Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Updates:
- Milestone Achievement: Vaishnaw on Saturday initiated a controlled dynamite blast to break through the final layer of the rock, marking the completion of 5-km tunnel excavation between Ghansoli and Shilphata.
- First Phase Launch: The first phase of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project is scheduled to begin operations on the Surat-Bilimora section in 2027.
- Final Launch: The service will be extended to Thane in 2028, with the final stretch to Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai expected to be completed by 2029.
- Frequency: Initially, the Railway Ministry has decided that the train will run every 30 minutes during the morning and evening peak hours. Once the complete stretch is operational, the frequency of trains will increase to every 10 minutes during peak hours.
