Nagercoil-Mangaluru Amrit Bharat Express Train: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Friday, January 23, flagged off the Amrit Bharat Express train connecting Nagercoil and Mangaluru. The train is set to begin commercial operations soon and will connect the southern tip of Tamil Nadu with coastal Karnataka via Kerala, strengthening rail connectivity along the west coast.
The Nagercoil-Mangaluru Amrit Bharat Express is designed to offer a faster and more affordable travel option along the Kerala coast, boosting tourism, fisheries, small-scale trade, and inter-state economic integration.
Nagercoil-Mangaluru Amrit Bharat Express Train: Check Route, Stoppages, Frequency, Timetable
- Route: The Amrit Bharat Express will operate as train numbers 16329/16330 between Nagercoil and Mangaluru, with scheduled halts at key stations including Thiruvananthapuram Central, Kollam, Chengannur, and Kottayam, The Indian Express reported.
- Stoppages: The Nagercoil-Mangaluru Amrit Bharat Express train is scheduled to stop at 20 key stations along the route, including Kasaragod, Kannur, Thalassery, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanassery, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, Kayamkulam, Karunagappalli, Kollam, Sivagiri, Varkala, and Thiruvananthapuram Central.
- Frequency: The Nagercoil-Mangaluru Amrit Bharat Express train will operate as a weekly service, departing from Nagercoil every Tuesday and from Mangaluru every Wednesday, the report added.
- Timetable: Train No 16329, the Nagercoil-Mangaluru Amrit Bharat Express, will depart Nagercoil at 11:40 AM on Tuesdays and arrive in Mangaluru at 05:00 AM the following day. In the return direction, Train No 16330 will depart Mangaluru at 08:00 AM on Wednesdays and reach Nagercoil at 22:05 PM the same day.
