BJP leader Narendra Modi will be administered oath as the Prime Minister of India for a third consecutive term this evening at Rashtrapati Bhavan. As many as 30 other leaders, from across parties under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), are also expected to be sworn in as the ministers in the Union Cabinet led by Modi. The council of ministers may range from 78 and 81 but not everyone will take oath in one go. The cabinet may go for expansion after some time.

As BJP failed to surpass the majority mark on its own, it is expected that the saffron party allies may get some plum portfolios in Modi cabinet 3.0.

Lok Sabha Election 2024:

In a major shocker for many, the BJP failed to secure a majority on its own as it managed to amass only 240 seats, 32 less than the magic number. The INDIA bloc accumulated 232 seats. The Congress and the Samajwadi Party (SP) pulled out a big surprise as they played a key role in keeping BJP away from surpassing the majority mark. The grand old party won 99 seats while the SP amassed 37 seats, giving a big jolt to the saffron party in its bastion Uttar Pradesh.

The NDA got 293 seats and now the BJP has to rely on its allies to enjoy safe run in the Centre.
