NEET UG Re-Test Leak Scare In Ajmer: The NEET-UG exam conducted on May 3 was cancelled following a paper leak, prompting authorities to schedule a re-examination on June 21. As candidates prepare for the re-test, set to begin at 2 pm today, a paper leak scare surfaced from Rajasthan's Ajmer, just hours before the exam.
An unknown caller allegedly showed the NEET question paper to a student via video call and demanded Rs 30,000 in exchange. Following a complaint, Ajmer police immediately formed a special team to investigate.
Police Lodge Complaint
Former DAV College Student Union president and ABVP member Krishna Singh Thakur has filed a police complaint in this regard. Thakur provided the police with a recording of the conversation. Following the complaint, the police are investigating the mobile number, QR code, and video call.
Police Probe On
Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Himanshu Jagid said the police received the complaint and formed a team to investigate. He said efforts are underway to identify the caller and verify the authenticity of the question paper shown during the video call.
According to the initial assessment of the police, this could be a big scam to extort money from the students appearing for the NEET re-examination to be held on Sunday.
Question Papers Delivered By Helicopter
Helicopters are being used to deliver question papers. The Indian Air Force used Mi-17 helicopters for this purpose. Additionally, the Indian Air Force is using C-17 helicopters, Blockmaster helicopters, and Mi-17 helicopters to discreetly transport question paper packets to exam centers. After the helicopters deliver the question paper packets to regional centers, the CRPF, CISF, and state police securely transported the question papers to the exam centers.
Strict Rules For Question Paper Setters
Since the cancellation of the NEET UG exam, the central government has been actively preparing for the NEET re-examination. The Ministry of Education has also revised the previous process for storing question papers. The experts responsible for preparing the NEET re-examination have been relocated to a secure and secret location. They will not be able to contact anyone until the exam is completed. They will also be barred from using mobile phones or the internet.
Question Papers Kept In Strong Rooms
Until now, NEET UG exam question papers were stored in strong rooms at major bank branches. However, the government has now changed this rule. All NEET re-exam question papers will be sent directly to the examination system. The government has also installed 5G jammers at exam centers to completely block mobile data, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi signals.
Post-Examination Forensic Review
After the NEET UG exam is over, the NTA will conduct a forensic review of all exam centers. During this process, the NTA will forensically review CCTV footage.
GPS Tracking Of Question Paper
The transport carrying the question papers to the exam centers will be GPS tracked. Furthermore, the question paper container boxes will be sealed with digital locks. These containers are programmed to open at specific times at the designated exam centers.
