NEET UG Re-Exam 2026: The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET)-UG 2026 re-examination is scheduled to be held on Sunday, June 21, under tight security arrangements following its previous cancellation over a paper leak. More than 2.2 million candidates are expected to appear for the medical entrance test.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday conducted comprehensive mock drills across all 5,454 centres, including 551 domestic cities and 14 international centres. The examination will be conducted in 12 languages, including Hindi and English. Over 300,000 personnel and officers have been deployed.

Preparations For NEET-UG 2026 Re-Examination

- The NTA has implemented unprecedented security measures for the re-examination. The expert team responsible for drafting the question paper has been placed under strict quarantine until the exam is concluded.

- Question papers were delivered to NTA's 18 regional centres via Indian Air Force aircraft and through the postal department.

- India on Tuesday blocked Telegram ahead of NEET UG 2026 re-examination over cheating network fears. 

- Additionally, central forces along with local police have been deployed at the examination centres.

- District magistrates and police superintendents have been instructed to be present at the venues, while specialised cyber commandos are actively monitoring to instantly neutralise misinformation or disruptions.

138,000 Cameras, 51,000 Jammers: NTA Turns To Tech For Leak-Proof Re-Exam

The re-examination will be conducted across more than 95,000 rooms, with every single room equipped with CCTV surveillance. A total of over 1.38 lakh CCTV cameras have been installed, and their live feeds will be monitored virtually at the national, state, and ministry levels.

A dedicated control room has also been established at the NTA headquarters to directly monitor each exam centre. Additionally, the agency has installed 51,311 jammers across the venues to protect the exam from electronic interference.

Student-Friendly Amenities At All Venues

The NTA, in coordination with state governments, has introduced several student-friendly amenities at all centres.

- Examination centres will be equipped with essential facilities, including clean drinking water, ORS packets, on-site ambulances, and shaded waiting areas for parents.

- Every examination room will be equipped with a wall clock.

- Candidates will receive extra sheets for rough work, with pages provided at the beginning of the booklet for the convenience of left-handed candidates.

Free Or Subsidised Bus Travel, Special Trains

- For the convenience of students, several states, including Delhi, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, have announced free or subsidised travel on state-run buses.

- Punjab has extended this relief to one accompanying parent or guardian, while Uttar Pradesh is offering a 50 per cent concession on state transport bus fares.

- Additionally, the Indian Railways has announced several 'Exam Special' trains across several states, including Bihar, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh.

What Students Must Carry?

NEET aspirants must have the following documents ready for the June 21 Re-NEET to avoid last-minute chaos.

- Re-NEET Admit Card 2026

- Valid Photo Identity Proof (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, School ID, Voter ID, or Driving Licence)

- Passport-Size Photograph

- PwD Certificate (If Applicable)

What Candidates Must Wear Tomorrow?

Students should wear simple and comfortable clothes. These include:

- Light-coloured clothes

- Half-sleeve shirts or tops

- Simple trousers or jeans without heavy pockets

- Slippers or low-heeled sandals

What To Avoid Wearing?

- Full sleeves (unless allowed for religious reasons with prior approval)

- Heavy jewellery, rings, bracelets, and earrings

- Caps, scarves, sunglasses

- Shoes with thick soles or boots

Students wearing customary or religious attire are required to report early for additional checking.

Prohibited Items Inside NEET Exam Centre

NTA has laid down strict guidelines detailing what candidates must not carry tomorrow.

- Mobile phones

- Smartwatches or digital watches

- Bluetooth devices or earphones

- Calculators

- Notes, books, or study material

- Wallets, handbags, or purses

- Food items (under medical conditions only)

Exam Timing And Reporting

The NTA has extended the exam duration by 15 minutes. The total duration of the exam to duration of the exam will be three hours and 15 minutes. The re-examination is scheduled to be held from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM.

Students were permitted to enter the examination centres starting at 11:00 AM. However, the gates will close at 1:30 PM, and no entry will be allowed after this deadline.
