Karnataka Neha Hiremath Murder: BJP, Congress At Loggerheads

This came as the Neha murder in Karnataka sparked another political slugfest in the state, with both parties trading charges at each other. The Bharatiya Janta Party slammed the ruling Congress, alleging Muslim appeasement by the current government behind the gruesome murder. However, Congress too responded to the allegations with Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar taking charge.

He accused the BJP of threatening the voters just ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

"BJP is trying to threaten by showing that there is no law and order in Karnataka. Karnataka has the best law and order. They are just trying to tell the voters that they are going to put Governor's rule in the state. They cannot do it. The law will take its course for everyone," he said.
