Jagran Correspondent, Noida: Starting June 15, a new fleet of e-city buses will begin operations across Delhi-NCR, connecting Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida, Greater Noida West, and the Noida International Airport in Jewar.
According to a report by Jagran.com, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to flag off 40 e-buses via video conferencing at 10 AM on Friday from Noida Shilp Haat in Sector 33. The event will be attended by Gautam Buddha Nagar MP Dr Mahesh Sharma and Noida MLA Pankaj Singh.
Phase-Wise Rollout Of E-City Buses
Under the initiative, a total of 510 e-city buses will be operated. The project will be launched in phases, starting with an initial fleet of 110 buses jointly operated by all three local authorities. An additional 100 electric buses are expected to be introduced within the next four to five months under the Chief Minister's e-City Bus Scheme.
E-City Buses To Cover 200 Km Daily, Boost Last-Mile Connectivity
As per the plan, the first fleet of electric buses has already begun arriving at the Noida Sector 90 depot. 30 e-city buses, including ten double-decker buses, have arrived at the depot.
These e-city buses are scheduled to cover a distance of 200 kilometres daily, with services available every 15 minutes. Once fully operational, the service is expected to boost last-mile connectivity, benefitting approximately one million commuters across Noida and Greater Noida.
Key Highlights
- The NMRC City Bus Depot in Sector-90 will be used by UPSRTC staff for the operation and maintenance of the e-city buses.
- The depot is equipped with 20 e-charging points for parking and two power connections of 5000 KW.
- Four alternative charging stations will be available at Botanical Garden Bus Stand.
- The depot includes a service centre, rest areas for drivers and conductors, and office rooms for staff.
- 100 buses (12 metres long) and 10 double-decker buses will be operated in the first phase. The double-decker buses will run between Noida and Greater Noida.
- Each e-city bus will travel a distance of 200 kilometres daily.
- Ticket prices are fixed at a minimum of Rs 10 and a maximum of Rs 30.
Routes
- Route 1: Botanical Garden to a statue via Golf Course, City Centre, Hoshiarpur, Sector-51, Parthala, and Gaur Chowk.
- Route 2: Botanical Garden to Noida International Airport via Sector 12-22, Rajnigandha, Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, and Pari Chowk.
- Route 3: Botanical Garden to Surajpur Court via Golf Course, City Centre, Sai Mandir, Road No. 6, Sector-62, Baraula, and Bhangel.
- Route 4: Botanical Garden to DSC Road via Sector-75, 76, 77, Sector-101, and Samsung Road.
