New Year Celebrations Safety Guidelines: Ahead of the New Year celebrations, police forces across the country have taken security measures to prevent public disorder and ensure safety. Key measures include the deployment of additional personnel at major hotspots, establishment of special control rooms and the use of advanced surveillance technology to monitor crowds during peak hours in major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

Delhi Police Deploys Over 3,000 Personnel, Sets Up Checkpoints, Control Rooms

With the New Year around the corner, the Delhi Police has intensified efforts to prevent disorder, including drunk driving, motorcycle stunts, and other traffic violations.

- According to news agency PTI, around 3,000 police personnel have been deployed across the national capital.

- Over 50 checkpoints have been established at strategic locations to curb traffic violations and conduct drunk driving tests using breath analysers.

- Authorities have identified 60 party hotspots, including malls, markets, and nightclubs, where intensive checks will be conducted.

- Special control rooms have been set up, and police personnel have been instructed to maintain a strong visible presence on roads to prevent violations and ensure public safety.

Bengaluru Police Deploys Women’s Squad Ahead Of New Year

Similar security measures have been taken in Bengaluru to ensure public safety. Key arrangements include:

- In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said, “Over 20,000 police personnel have been deployed across the city, including specialised women squads.”

- Modern technologies, including heat map systems, will be used to monitor crowds and track traffic violations in major hotspots.

- Traffic police, emergency services, and quick response teams have been put on high alert to respond to any emergencies.

- Additionally, the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has announced special bus services for New Year revellers. Buses will run until 2 AM on January 1.

Mumbai Police Deploys Over 17,000 Personnel, Sets Up Helpline

Mumbai Police have deployed over 17,000 personnel across the state under elaborate security arrangements as New Year celebrations are expected to continue till the early hours of Thursday.

- Speaking to the news agency PTI, a senior police officer said that a massive security force of 10 Additional Commissioners, 38 Deputy Commissioners, 61 Assistant Commissioners, and 2,790 police officers has been deployed.

- Authorities have urged citizens to use helpline numbers 100 and 112 in case of emergencies.

- The Mumbai Police have conducted an inspection of the security arrangements and launched a city-wide enforcement drive to ensure the safety of residents during the New Year celebrations.
