Jagran Correspondent, Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party leader, Saurabh Bhardwaj, claimed that Rajya Sabha member and former party colleague, Raghav Chadha's name has reappeared in Delhi's draft voter list. This is not merely an allegation; it is a fact, he asserted.

"The draft electoral roll from the first phase of the SIR on August 31 shows that at the booth in Rajinder Nagar where Raghav Chadha used to reside, there were only 746 voters. Now, I observe that his vote has suddenly reappeared at a booth in Rajinder Nagar, and his serial number is 747. We want to know from both the Election Commission and Raghav Chadha how this happened. If there is a specific procedure involved, please let us know," fomrer Delhi minister said.

On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party held a press conference on Tuesday, raising several questions about the claim made by Chadha. The allegations came amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the removal of Rajya Sabha member and BJP leader Chadha's name from the Punjab SIR draft.

AAP leader Anurag Dhanda alleged that flat number 103 in Mohali, which is reportedly Chadha's address, is no longer occupied by anyone. He questioned whether Chadha's name wasn't on the Delhi draft voter list as of August 30, whether his name was added after that and how it was included without filling out the prescribed form. Dhanda alleged that Chadha had attempted to register his vote in Delhi with a backdated form.

BJP Can Remove Or Add Anyone's Name To Voter List: AAP

He also targeted the BJP, saying that it can remove anyone's vote from the voter list. The AAP leader demanded that the Election Commission ensure transparency in the entire voter list preparation process and adherence to the rules.
"You all have heard a lot of discussion about SIR. But you must have also heard about how openly BJP’s bullying is taking place in SIR, add anyone’s name, remove anyone’s name. There is no procedure, no need to follow the necessary requirements, and no steps to be followed," he added.

AAP Shows Video Of Flat Number 103

Dhanda also showed a video related to flat number 103 in Mohali. The video shows a journalist arriving at the flat with a security guard. The guard claims he has never seen Chadha there. Inside the flat, there doesn't appear to be much furniture, and the condition of the rooms is described as poor.

The AAP leader said that since there is no evidence of Chadha's residence at the given address, it is natural to question how he registered himself as a voter in Punjab. He added that a person cannot be registered as a voter in two places at the same time.

Questions On Delhi's Voter List Too

The AAP leader claimed that the draft voter list for Delhi was released on August 31. Chadha's name was not included in the list for the Rajinder Nagar Assembly constituency. Dhanda questioned whether the prescribed procedure was followed.

He said that if the BJP MP is claiming his voting rights under the SIR in Punjab, he should clarify where his usual residence is. Dhanda alleged that the process of adding and deleting names from the voter list is being arbitrarily implemented.

Political Vendetta: Chadha Said After His Name Was Missing In Punjab SIR

Chadha's name has been listed as "permanently shifted" in the Punjab draft voter list, released after a special in-depth revision. Chadha, calling this a political vendetta, said that he is a sitting Rajya Sabha member from Punjab and his voter ID is registered in Mohali. He had said that the final voter list has not been released yet and he is filing objections as per the prescribed procedure.

According to election officials, Chadha's vote was not arbitrarily cancelled by any official. During the SIR verification process, his name was recorded as "permanently shifted". The relevant document also bears the signatures of booth-level agents from the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party, they added. Officials clarified that this is a draft list, so the status is not final.

Chadha was elected to the Rajya Sabha on an Aam Aadmi Party ticket in 2022. He joined the BJP in April 2026. Since then, there has been constant discussion about his political role in Punjab.
