Chhattisgarh Rain Alert: Heavy Downpour Likely In Raipur, Durg, Other Regions Till Sep 13; Check IMD Forecast

Chhattisgarh Rain Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several regions of Chhattisgarh are likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall in the coming days. It stated that the intensity of rainfall is expected to significantly increase in the southern and central parts of the state. Along with the heavy rain, the residents of these regions are also likely to witness thunderstorms, gusty winds, and lightning.

Multiple Parts To Receive Rain

The low pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and its surrounding areas is currently active over the same region. The IMD, while providing details, stated that cyclonic circulation extends up to about 9.4 kilometers above sea level. The rain activity is expected to increase over southern and central Chhattisgarh over the next two days due to its influence.

Heavy Rain Likely In These Districts 

The weather department stated that several districts of the Bastar division, including Bijapur, Sukma, Dantewada, Bastar, Kondagaon, Narayanpur, and Kanker, are set to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next two days. Apart from this, multiple regions of the Raipur and Durg divisions, such as Raipur, Durg, Bhilai, Dhamtari, Mahasamund, Gariaband, Baloda Bazar-Bhatapara, and Rajnandgaon, are also set to witness similar weather conditions.

Waterlogging To Trouble Commuters

The continuous rainfall is likely to cause waterlogging in the lower regions, causing inconveniences to the farmers and the daily commuters. The residents of capital city Raipur are likely to experience cloudy skies throughout the day on Friday, with light rain likely in the late hours. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 30 degrees Celsius, and the minimum around 25 degrees Celsius.

Apart from Chhattisgarh, the weather department has issued a yellow alert for parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, West Bengal, and Sikkim. The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and limit their outings during the rainfall to avoid inconveniences.
