A CCTV clip from West Delhi's Kirti Nagar shows a 79-year-old man and his 71-year-old wife being flung into the air after a Hyundai Creta allegedly hit them from behind while they were returning home from a morning walk.
The accident took place around 9.30 am on Friday near Arya Samaj Mandir, police said. The couple, identified as Dayanand Tangra and Kusum Tangra, were walking towards their Kirti Nagar home when the car, allegedly driven by 49-year-old Navleen Kaur, suddenly turned towards them.

The impact threw the elderly woman towards an electric pole, while her husband was flung several feet away. Both sustained serious injuries and were taken to a private hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
Woman Driver Leaves After Stopping To Help
The purported CCTV footage shows the woman stopping the car and getting out after the collision. She is seen approaching the injured elderly man, who was lying face down on the road, while passers-by also rushed to help.
The driver reportedly remained at the spot for around 30 seconds before getting back into the car and leaving. Police later arrested her and impounded the vehicle.

Police Book Driver For Rash Driving
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Hareshwar V Swami said a case had been registered at Kirti Nagar police station.
“A case of rash driving and act causing hurt and endangering life or personal safety of others was registered under section 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Kirti Nagar police station. The woman driver, Naveen Kaur, has been arrested and the offending vehicle has also been impounded,” said DCP Swami.
Police said Dayanand Tangra suffered a serious head injury, while his wife sustained injuries to the rear portion of her body.
Who Are The Elderly Couple?
Dayanand Tangra runs a footwear sole manufacturing factory, while Kusum is a homemaker. The couple lives in Kirti Nagar and has two daughters who are settled in the United States with their families.
Police identified the arrested woman as a homemaker.
