MP Hooch Tragedy: CM Mohan Yadav Holds Key Meeting In Sagar, Orders Strict Action Against Errant Officials, Liquor Mafia

Naidunia Correspondent, Sagar | Following the deaths in the hooch tragedy in the Banda-Shahgarh area, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, who arrived in Sagar on Wednesday, held a key meeting with police and administrative officials to review the situation. The chief minister asserted that strict action should be taken against the officers responsible for the incident.

The role of everyone responsible, from top to bottom, should be seriously investigated and no culprit should be spared, he added.

'Adopt A Zero Tolerance Policy'

The chief minister said that the government is pursuing a zero-tolerance policy against crime and anti-social activities and that strict action should be taken against those involved in the illegal liquor trade.

He also directed the officials to take action against illegal encroachments and those who have built their network through illegal activities. Yadav said that action should also be taken in coordination with the police of border states. He instructed officials to investigate and take action immediately wherever suspicious activity is suspected.

'Innocent People Should Not Be Framed'

Innocent people should not be trapped, the CM cautioned officials, adding that action should be taken against those spreading rumours. He also directed monitoring of those spreading unnecessary rumours through the internet and other means. Strict punitive action will be taken against those who attempt to disturb peace and harmony, Yadav said.

The chief minister directed the Superintendent and senior doctors to provide the best possible treatment to the victims, and also asked them to ensure the availability of essential medicines, tests, and specialist doctors around the clock.

During this, Damoh MP Rahul Singh Lodhi, Rahli MLA Gopal Bhargava, Khurai MLA Bhupendra Singh, Sagar MLA Shailendra Jain, Naryanwali MLA Pradeep Lariya, Banda MLA Virendra Singh Lodhi, Bina MLA Nirmala Sapre, Deori MLA Braj Bihari Pateriya, District Panchayat President Hira Singh Rajput, BJP District President Shyam Tiwari, Mayor Sangeeta Tiwari, Municipal Corporation President Vrindavan Ahirwar, along with police and administration officials and doctors, were present at the meeting.

12 Dead In Sagar Hooch Tragedy

Meanwhile, the death toll in the Sagar hooch tragedy rose to 12 on Monday after one more person succumbed, while nearly 30 others remained under medical observation. Police arrested 14 of the 30 persons named as accused in FIRs lodged in connection with the incident as authorities launched a major crackdown on bootleggers.
