Noida International Airport (Jewar) is all set to begin its first commercial flight on June 15, marking a major milestone for aviation in the region. However, the airport is not being developed as just an air travel facility; it is set to emerge as one of India’s most advanced multi-modal transport hubs in the coming years.

A large-scale integrated network connecting Namo Bharat Rapid Rail, Delhi-Varanasi Bullet Train, Metro services, and Indian Railways is planned to make Jewar a key connectivity point for North India.

First Flight and Initial Connectivity

Air operations from Noida International Airport will begin with a Lucknow-Jewar flight on June 15.

  1. Departure from Lucknow: 7:05 AM
  2. Arrival at Jewar: 8:05 AM

In the initial phase, the airport will connect over 16 cities, including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Amritsar, Srinagar, Jaipur, Bhopal, and Dehradun.

Namo Bharat Rapid Rail Link

A 72 km Ghaziabad-Jewar Namo Bharat corridor has been approved to connect the airport directly to Ghaziabad as well as the Delhi NCR region. The corridor will go via important sectors of Greater Noida as well as the Yamuna Expressway region, making it possible for travellers to have high-speed transit with no changeovers.

Bullet Train Connectivity

Another aspect that will give the Jewar Airport the much-needed importance is the Delhi-Varanasi High-Speed Rail corridor, which will connect to the airport, and it is projected to only take 21 minutes to go from Sarai Kale Khan to Jewar, and the high-speed line will eventually go all the way to Agra, Lucknow, and Varanasi.

Metro and Railway Integration

  • A new metro line from Knowledge Park-2 will connect directly to the airport and integrate with the Delhi-NCR metro network.
  • Indian Railways is also developing the Chola-Rundhi (Palwal) line, which will include a new underground station near the airport.

This will provide direct access to major routes, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Mumbai, Chennai, and beyond, via trains like Vande Bharat, Rajdhani, and Shatabdi.

Major Logistics and Transport Hub

A massive Multimodal Logistics Hub (MMLH) is being developed over 849 acres near Dadri and Bodaki.

Additionally, the Bodaki Transport Hub will integrate:

  • Inter-state bus terminal (ISBT)
  • Metro station
  • Railway terminal
  • Pod taxi connectivity to the airport

Combined with connectivity via air, rail, metro and road, the Jewar Airport will serve as an economic and logistics hub, spurring jobs, investment, and real estate and making Noida an infrastructure powerhouse on the world map.
