Noida News: In a major move to alleviate traffic congestion in commercial and industrial areas of Noida, the Noida Authority has announced plans to construct the city’s first automated puzzle parking in Sector-63 at an estimated cost of Rs 16.5 crore. The puzzle parking will allow operators to provide faster and safer parking to drivers.

The Noida Authority has decided to build a multi-storey automated puzzle parking facility with a capacity to accommodate 100 vehicles at a time. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been sent to IIT Roorkee. Once approved, a tender will be floated, following which the construction work will begin soon.

Details About The Automated Puzzle Parking In Noida Sector-63

A four-storey parking facility is planned to be constructed in Noida’s Sector-63, which will have a capacity to accommodate 100 vehicles, with 25 vehicles on every floor, Hindustan Times reported. Unlike traditional hydraulic parking systems, the automated puzzle parking will use sensors to automatically move cars between floors in just three to six minutes.

The automated puzzle parking will significantly reduce waiting times compared to traditional multilevel parking facilities, which take around 15 to 20 minutes.

How Does Automated Puzzle Parking Work?

- The automated puzzle parking functions like a moving puzzle, with vehicles parked on movable platforms that can shift them horizontally or vertically.

- The parking uses sensors to move each car to its designated position and also adjusts other stands to maximise space efficiency.

- Additionally, the automated puzzle parking reduces the risk of theft, scratches and accidents with the use of sensors. Every vehicle can be retrieved independently.

- The automatic sensors immediately halt vehicle movement if any child or animal enters the parking area.

- According to the officials, the automated puzzle parking can save a lot of space, allowing a multi-level parking to be built in a compact space.

- The automated parking required minimal to no manpower to operate.
