Noida Power Cut: Several sectors of Noida plunged into darkness after a fire broke out in a transformer at Sector 82’s Swarnim Vihar. Overheating led to a cable also getting damaged in Behlolpur near Sector 63. Meanwhile, sector 36 also faced severe darkness after a transformer caught fire due to oil leakage. Several areas of Ghaziabad are facing a similar power crisis. Even as power officials reached Swarnim Vihar Duplex and disconnected the transformer to extinguish the fire, outages continued in many sectors on Tuesday.

Areas such as Abhay Khand, Vaishali, Vasundhara and Loni faced power outages ranging from half an hour to over four hours. Sectors 11, 12, 15, 19, 62, 63A, 99, 100, 104, 105 and 108 witnessed more than four-hour power cuts, as per TOI reports.

It's not just the power crisis, but water supply too has been affected severely due to daily power outages. Many sectors in Greater Noida have complained about the breaking down of motor pumps because of the same. The power department officials of both cities of Noida and Ghaziabad have stated that they have deployed teams on the ground to address the issues of the residents. Further adding to the situation, the officials have also asserted that due to increase in temperatures and increased demand for electricity has led to load on substations, as per a few TOI reports.
