North India Weather: According to the India Meteorological Department: (IMD), dense fog has enveloped regions like Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan. Visibility is significantly reduced in the morning, affecting road, rail, and air traffic.

Yellow Alert For Dense Fog In Delhi

The minimum temperature in Delhi on February 5 is expected to hover around 7-9 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature could reach 21-23 degrees Celsius. Clear skies and sunshine are expected during the day. Mornings and evenings will remain cold and foggy. IMD has issued a yellow alert for moderate to dense fog in Delhi, and this condition is expected to persist for the next few days.

The situation is similar in Uttar Pradesh. Dense to very dense fog is prevailing from western Uttar Pradesh (areas as Ghaziabad, Meerut, and Noida) to eastern parts. Minimum temperatures in many districts hover between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius. IMD has issued a warning for dense fog in Uttar Pradesh until February 7. Light rain or hail is also forecast in some areas, which could further intensify the cold.

Snowfall In Uttarakhand, Fog Warning In Plains

Light snowfall occurred on the Himalayan peaks in Uttarakhand for the third consecutive day. Chardham, Hemkund Sahib, and Auli, were covered in snow.

According to IMD, the weather is expected to remain dry in most districts of Uttarakhand on Thursday. A warning has been issued for dense fog in Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Dehradun, Pauri, and Nainital. A yellow alert for fog has been issued.

Cold Wave Continues In Kashmir Valley

Severe cold is prevailing in Pahalgam and Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir. The weather remained clear in most parts of the UT on Wednesday. The tourist destinations of Gulmarg and Pahalgam are experiencing severe cold, with night temperatures dropping. According to the Meteorological Center, Srinagar, light snowfall may occur in some parts of the state on the night of February 6.

Orange Alert Issued For Avalanche In Himachal

An orange alert for avalanche has been issued for Kinnaur, Kullu, and Lahaul-Spiti in Himachal Pradesh. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for dense fog in the lower and plain areas of the state until February 8. Clear weather is expected in most parts of the state on February 5.

Light rain and snowfall are expected at isolated locations in the higher and hilly areas on February 6. Clear weather is expected again on February 7 and 8. Widespread rainfall and snowfall are expected in the higher elevations on February 9 and 10 due to the active western disturbance in the state.
