Ajit Doval Moscow Visit: National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is expected to travel to Moscow this week to engage in discussions aimed at resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict through diplomatic means, a report suggested on Sunday. The initiative by the Indian side came after Prime Minister Modi met with the leaders of both countries in the last two months, where he urged them to do away with the war and resolve the conflict through peaceful efforts.
Prime Minister Modi visited Russia in July, where he told Putin that 'no solution to any conflict is possible on the battlefield'. His Moscow visit was succeeded by a trip to war-torn Kiev in August where he met President Zelenskyy and shared the same thought with him. Later, PM Modi dialled Putin on August 27, in which he informed Russia's Putin of his Ukraine visit and reiterated India's commitment to mediate between the two countries by political and diplomatic means.

"It is obvious that if the rules of international law are broken we will get a multiplication of chaos and crisis, but it is also obvious that with the multiplication of crisis, we will have a natural fragmentation of the geo-economic space, that is, in the long run, economic globalization and questioning of the rules of international law will not walk together. This is what I also said to my Chinese counterparts, we must choose because the two things do not go together, it is also the reason why I think that in the end nations, like China and India, can play a role and must play a role in resolving the conflict in Ukraine," said Giorgia Meloni.
