Security forces have roped in anti-drone systems in Manipur to avert the prevailing security tensions in the violence-hit state. Whereas the Assam Rifles deployed a few anti-drone systems, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) also handed over one anti-drone system to the security agency working in the strife-ridden north-eastern state, Manipur police said.
According to the state police, the CRPF is set to bring more anti-drone guns to Manipur in a few days. These guns will be used to deter and defeat the rogue drones used by militants to drop bombs on civilian areas.
“Assam Rifles has deployed a few anti-drone systems in the State at fringe areas to repel any rogue drones. CRPF has also tested one anti-drone system and given it to the force deployed in the State. Some more anti-drone guns are being brought to the State by CRPF shortly,” the statement said
“The State Police has also started the process for procurement of anti-drone system to enhance its security measures and tackle threats from drones effectively,” Manipur Police added.
