Lok Sabha Election 2024:
In a major shocker for many, the BJP failed to secure a majority on its own as it managed to amass only 240 seats, 32 less than the magic number. The INDIA bloc accumulated 232 seats. The Congress and the Samajwadi Party (SP) pulled out a big surprise as they played a key role in keeping BJP away from surpassing the majority mark.
The grand old party won 99 seats while the SP amassed 37 seats, giving a big jolt to the saffron party in its bastion Uttar Pradesh. The NDA got 293 seats and now the BJP has to rely on its allies to enjoy safe run in the Centre.
