Puri Woman Paraded: A 43-year-old college lecturer allegedly paraded his 37-year-old estranged wife along with her male associate on a road, suspecting them of having an extramarital relationship in Odisha's Puri. Acting on the viral video of the incident, the Odisha Police arrested two persons, including the lecturer.

According to police, the duo were paraded at Nimapada town in Puri on Tuesday night. The police said the lecturer was arrested after he and his friend barged into the residence of the woman. His wife, a teacher, has been living separately for the past few years. They allegedly assaulted her and her male companion. They said the woman, who has a 14-year-old son, was staying separately in a rented accommodation at Nimapada town.

Justifying his horrific move, the lecturer said he assaulted her because she was in a relationship with another man. However, the duo rejected the allegation.

Lecturer, His Friend Arrested

Bamadev Swain, the inspector-in-charge of Nimapada police station, said, "We have arrested the lecturer and his associate on charges of outraging the modesty of a woman, physically assaulting her, publicly humiliating them by making them parade on the streets."

Video Of Incident Goes Viral On Social Media

The video of this entire incident went viral on social media. It is clearly visible in the viral video that the woman is being beaten and abused by her husband, while the crowd is watching the assault. Some people are seen making videos with their mobiles, but no one is intervening in the viral post.

What Is The Whole Controversy?

The victim woman, who is a teacher and was living separately from her husband, was attacked by her husband and his friend. Her husband is a lecturer in a college, and there was already a marital dispute going on between the two. The woman was living in a rented house in Nima-Pada area. The husband suspected that his wife was having an affair with someone else. Due to this suspicion, he suddenly reached the woman's house late on Tuesday night with some people. IndiaTV reported, there, he allegedly saw the woman with a student leader. After this, the husband lost his temper. He forcibly dragged the woman and the student leader accompanying her out of the house. He abused them, took off man's clothes, beat them and then forcibly took both of them out on the road and paraded them.
