Odisha Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday stated that several regions of Odisha are likely to witness light to heavy rain for the next few days. While providing details, the weather department stated that the coastal regions of Odisha will witness rain along with thunderstorms and gusty winds for the next five days. Apart from this, the other regions will witness light to moderate rainfall. The continuous rain is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. The IMD has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts of Odisha, including Rayagada, Gajapati, Koraput, Nabarangpur, and Malkangiri, are likely to witness heavy rainfall for the next few days. Apart from rain, these regions are also set to receive thunderstorms and gusty winds. The IMD further stated that several other districts, including Koraput, Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, and Nuapada, are also likely to witness rain and strong surface winds.

"There will be light to moderate rain in many parts of the state. Heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms are possible at some places. The wind speed can reach 30 to 40 kilometers per hour." Manorama Mohanty, director of the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Center, was quoted as saying by Jagran.Com. The weather department stated that the continuous rainfall will lead to issues like waterlogging and power outages in several key areas.

The IMD has also advised the fishermen to limit their financial activities and maintain a distance from the water bodies to avoid any inconveniences. The weather department also stated that several other states, including Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi, are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for a few more days.
