In a surprising incident, the Gujarat Police have arrested a teen Pakistani couple in Gujarat's Kutch district near the India-Pakistan border.

The couple was detained after they were found under suspicious circumstances in the Ratanpur village of Kharidar Bet area, which is about 40 km inside the border. According to the police, the couple was interrogated, during which they admitted to infiltration from Pakistan.

The lovers told the police that they escaped from the captivity of their families and crossed the border overnight into India. The couple belongs to Pakistan's Islamkot village. The incident has raised serious concerns over the security along the border as the couple penetrated 40 km inside the border without being noticed.

Following their detainment, the security forces were informed who, along with the police, is investigating the case. It has been reported that the couple had no proof of their Pakistani identity.

How was couple spotted?

According to reports, villagers spotted the couple in a suspicious condition in the forest of Ratanpar village in the Khadir Islands in the Vagad region of Kutch district. The village head was informed, who then immediately informed the Khadir police. Police arrived at the scene and detained the couple.

The boy has been identified as Tara alias Toto Ranmal Churi Bhil (16), and the girl as Pooja Karsan Churi Bhil (15). The couple said they were deeply in love. They escaped from their families' custody and crossed into India overnight. Police are currently investigating the matter and security agencies have been informed.
