Patna Traffic Alert: Several Roads Closed, Diversions In Place Due To Student March; Check Alternative Routes

Patna Traffic Alert: The Patna traffic police issued an advisory on Tuesday due to the students' protest and foot march from Gandhi Maidan to Lok Bhavan. In its directive, the authority stated that the vehicular movement will remain restricted in several key regions due to the foot march. The traffic police have advised the commuters to maximize the use of public transportation and follow the guidelines to avoid any inconveniences.

Restrictions Around Gandhi Maindan 

The authority stated that the movement of commercial vehicles, auto-rickshaws, and e-rickshaws around Gandhi Maidan will be strictly prohibited during this period. The traffic police further stated that autos and e-rickshaws coming from Police Lines and Bank Road will also be stopped. It also stated that autos and e-rickshaws will not be allowed to operate from Buddha Marg via Chhajjubag to TN Banerjee Path and from Kotwali T to the Buddha Marg Police Line intersection.

The movement of vehicles will be restricted around Gandhi Maidan and on several major roads connecting it until traffic becomes normal. The authority also stated that vehicles will be prohibited from the income tax roundabout towards Kotwali. The vehicles going towards Kotwali from the Income Tax roundabout will be diverted towards Mandiri drain and sent towards Ashoka Rajpath.

Diversions In Place 

Similarly, auto-rickshaws will be prohibited from entering Exhibition Road from Bhattacharya Square towards North Gandhi Maidan. The vehicles approaching Gandhi Maidan from Gaighat on Ashoka Rajpath will be redirected back to Gaighat by taking a U-turn near the western end of the West Double Decker at Kargil Chowk.

The movement of vehicles coming from Patna Junction to Dakbungla Square and from Patna Station to Dakbungla Square will be completely prohibited. The traffic police stated that vehicles will be restricted from traveling towards the Income Tax roundabout due to the strike. The vehicles going towards Income Tax from Boring Road crossing on Nehru Path will be sent towards Boring Road.
