Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to install the Dharma Dhwaj atop the Ram Temple in Ayodhya in the presence of top leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on November 25, in what marks the symbolic completion of the construction of the temple. The event will be the second most grand event after Pran Pratistha.
Prime Minister Modi has reportedly invited participants for the world’s largest Scout and Guide Jamboree. More than 35,000 cadets are expected to take part in this. Additionally, the Prime Minister is set to review the progress of the Viksit Uttar Pradesh Abhiyan and inspect the Jewar International Airport project.
Nripendra Mishra, Chairman of the Temple Construction Committee, said, “The Prime Minister has in principle accepted the date and preparations are already underway for his participation in the ceremony.” Mishra further said that the hoisting of the flag by the Prime Minister signifies that the doors of the temple are now open for the devotees. He further said that a list of 6000-8000 invitees has been prepared for the religious event, and they will represent various sections.
PM Modi will be joined by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and other big leaders. The flag hoisting ceremony will be a five-day ritual starting from November 21 and concluding on November 25.

What Is The Dharma Dhwaj?
The Dharma Dhwaj is a saffron flag and a symbol of divine energy and purity, according to Swami Govindadev Giri, Treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The flag has been crafted in accordance with the descriptions from the Valmiki Ramayana. “The flag will bear symbols of the Sun, Om, and the Kovidar tree, all of which are sacred elements linked to Lord Ram," he added.
The flag is 22 feet long and 11 feet wide. It will be raised on a 42-foot-high pole atop the 161-foot Shikhara of the main temple. The flagpole features a 360-degree rotating chamber engineered to withstand winds of up to 60 km/h, ensuring the sacred flag remains intact in all weather conditions.
“The flag hoisting will mark not just the culmination of construction but the consecration of Ayodhya’s spiritual skyline," said Anil Mishra, a member of the trust overseeing technical arrangements. The ceremony marks the final phase of the Ram Temple’s construction, which has gone through multiple stages since August 2020. Now, with the completion of the first floor and the Sanctum Sanctorum (Garbh Griha), the trust says that the temple structure is fully ready.
PM Modi had performed 'Bhoomi Pujan' at Ram Temple on August 5, 2020, and the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony was held on January 22, 2024.
