A 60-year-old pilot from a private aviation firm has been booked for allegedly raping a 26-year-old cabin crew member on November 18 at a hotel in Bengaluru. The accused, identified as Rohit Saran, and the victim later approached the Begumpet police station, where a First Information Report (FIR) was registered.
According to the NDTV report, the incident took place on November 18 after the accused pilot, Rohit Saran, reached the Bengaluru hotel along with another pilot and the cabin crew member. The team had flown in on a chartered flight from Begumpet in Hyderabad and Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh, and they were slated to fly back to Puttaparthi the following day. They checked into the hotel to rest before their return duty.

According to the complaint, the woman stated that Rohit asked her to accompany him near his room under the guise of stepping out for a smoke. Once there, he allegedly pulled her inside the room and sexually assaulted her. After returning to Begumpet on November 20, she immediately informed the management of the aviation company and filed a zero FIR at the Begumpet police station.
Police have booked the accused under Section 63 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertains to rape. The case has been forwarded to the Halasuru Police Station in Bengaluru for further investigation.
Police further said that inquiries are continuing and that “appropriate action will follow” once the investigation progresses.
In a separate incident, three men arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly raping a 30-year-old woman from West Bengal and stealing her valuables at her home in Gangondanahalli on October 21. According to the investigation, a group of six forcibly entered her residence, threatened her, assaulted the occupants, and took cash and mobile phones. Three of the men allegedly raped the woman while the others kept watch.

Following her complaint, a team led by Superintendent of Police C.K. Baba launched an overnight operation and apprehended two suspects within hours, later tracing the third. The woman, who worked at a salon and lived in a rented house, was targeted after a tenant reportedly enlisted a student and his associates, local goons, to intimidate her. Police have booked the accused under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) as efforts continue to locate the remaining suspects.
