Pune-Hubli Vande Bharat Train: In a major update, the Indian Railways has given a new halt to the Vande Bharat Express train running between Maharashtra's Pune and Karnataka's Hubli.
The Central Railway Division has said that the Pune-Hubli Vande Bharat Express will stop at Kirloskarwadi station on an experimental basis on November 24. In a press release, the Central Railway stated that the Pune-Hubli-Pune Vande Bharat Express started on September 19, 2024, to facilitate fast, safe and seamless transportation to the southern part adjacent to Western Maharashtra.
When it started, the semi-high-speed train had only 7 stops. These stops are Pune, Satara, Sangli, Miraj, Belgavi, Dharwad and Hubli.
Earlier, in January this year, the Central Railway added Ghatprabha as the eighth stop of the Pune-Hubli-Pune Vande Bharat Express.
Therefore, Kirloskarwadi will be the ninth halt for the semi-high-speed train. The halt at Kirloskarwadi will largely benefit the people of Palus, Kadegaon and Tasgaon talukas in Maharashtra's Sangli district, along with Kundal and Ramanandnagar.

The locals from these areas have long been demanding the stoppage at Kirloskarwadi. In the press release, the railway administration has clarified that the decision of additional stoppage has been taken due to the demand of passengers.
It is worth mentioning here that Kirloskarwadi, in Sangli district's Palus-Kadegaon taluka, is the centre of the Kirloskar industrial group.
A large number of students, workers and traders in the area travel to and from Pune and Hubli for education and work. While the stop at Kirloskarwadi will reduce time and cost, it will also make it convenient for those travelling to the Hubli area for tourism and business needs.
-While travelling from Pune to Hubli, the Vande Bharat will stop at Kirloskarwadi at 5:43 PM.
-On the return journey, the train will stop at 9:38 AM.
