The Pune Police on Monday arrested two doctors of Sassoon General Hospital for manipulating the blood sample report of the teenage driver involved in the Porsche car accident, news agency ANI reported citing Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar. Kumar said Dr Ajay Taware, head of the forensics department at Sassoon Hospital in Pune, and Dr Shrihari Harnor, chief medical officer at Sassoon, were nabbed for allegedly manipulating reports in a bid to tamper with the evidence in the case. A peon has also been arrested on the aforementioned charges.
Kumar said the sample taken on May 19 was thrown in a dustbin and the sample of some other person was sent to the forensic lab. This was done by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Srihari Halnor. Divulging the details of the probe, he said Srihari Halnor replaced the blood sample on the instructions of the HOD Forensic Medicine Department of Sassoon, Ajay Tawre. Juvenile's father had called Dr Taware to replace blood samples, he added.
A Massive pandemonium erupted after a 17-year-old youth on Tuesday rammed his high-end Porsche Taycan into a motorcycle in Pune, killing two IT professionals. The accused, who is the son of a real estate developer, Vishal Agarwal, was reportedly under the influence of liquor when the incident took place.
Moreover, builder Vishal Agrawal is said to have used his influence owing to which his son was granted bail by the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) within 15 hours while setting conditions like social service and writing an essay.
However, the Juvenile Board rolled back its erstwhile verdict after a massive outrage erupted over the incident. The accused was sent to a juvenile home for 14 days.
Earlier, reports claimed the family driver of the Agrawal family was pressurised by the family of accused to take the blame of the accident. Reacting over the allegations, SK Agrawal, grandfather of the accused, said he returned to Pune last Sunday and it was not possible for him to threaten the driver as he was not present at the scene.

A court on Saturday remanded Agrawal in police custody till May 28. Earlier, Amitesh Kumar, Pune Police Commissioner, said the father and grandfather of the accused offered cash and gifts to the family of driver to take the blame. They also allegedly threatened him. The duo has been booked under IPC Sections 365 (kidnapping with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine a person) and 368 (wrongfully concealing or keeping in confinement).
