A video of Punjab ministers discussing Sweden and Goa cruises as they reach flood-affected areas to inspect the ground situation. A video of three Punjab Ministers, Barinder Kumar Goyal, Laljit Bhullar, and Harbhajan Singh, went viral, discussing their experience in Sweden and Goa cruises as they sat in a boat, wearing life jackets, to review the flood situation in the state.

One minister mentioned his vacation in Sweden, saying, "I went to Sweden and took cruise rides for 24 hours.”

Another brought up Goa in the discussion. Their conversation about the vacation trip in Sweden and Goa was interrupted after the third minister pointed toward stranded people standing on the top of their homes.

As the video went viral on Social Media, it ignited a backlash from users for the ministers’ alleged insensitivity.

Leader of Opposition (LoP) Partap Singh Bajwa hit out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ministers over the timing of their conversation. He wrote on X, "Flood-hit families in Punjab beg for a glass of drinking water, but @AAPPunjab Ministers @barinder_goyal, @Laljitbhullar and @AAPHarbhajan found time to relive their 'golden memories' of luxury cruises in Sweden & Goa. What a relief tour.”

Besides opposition, many users on the platform also hit out at the ministers for reliving their vacation memories when flood-hit families struggle to live.

One user wrote, "What a disgrace such leaders are, Punjabis will never forgive such lack of empathy.”

"Enjoying cruise voyages at the cost of people who are trying hard to just survive the day. What shameless people, forgot that they were elected to serve people,” another wrote.
Punjab is currently facing one of the worst floods, with rescue agencies working to rescue stranded people from flooded areas.

The Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, on Thursday ordered deputy commissioners of flood-affected areas to speed up the relief and rescue measures as he conducted a tour of the flood-affected area. He also announced that he, along with his cabinet and party MLAs, would donate one month's salary towards relief and rescue efforts for flood victims.
