Ludhiana News: In Punjab's Ludhiana, a married woman was allegedly gang-raped by a man and his three family members. The incident, which is said to have taken place on May 1, but the victim was too traumatised to report the matter immediately. It was only after she had recovered and stabilised from the trauma that she mustered the courage to approach the police and file a complaint.
The accused, who hail from Gorakhpur in the neighbouring state of Uttar Pradesh, are alleged to have recorded the entire ordeal on their mobile phones, adding to the victim's anguish and humiliation.
The primary suspect, Ravinder Singh, is believed to have committed the crime as a means of retaliation after his daughter had eloped with the victim's brother in April. Ravinder, along with his brother Varinder Singh, son Aman Singh and another associate Santosh Singh, are all named in the case registered at the Tibba Road Police Station.
In her complaint, the victim, who is the mother of two children, stated that the four men had arrived at her doorstep on the May 1, searching for the eloped couple. When they failed to find the pair, the accused allegedly intimidated the woman and proceeded to gang-rape her.

Additionally, the perpetrators are also said to have threatened the victim, warning her that if she were to file a complaint, they would upload the video of the assault on social media, making it go viral and further compounding her suffering.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a 14-year-old girl from Ludhiana was taken advantage of by a young man, who lured her to Amritsar and sexually assaulted her in a hotel room. The victim's father filed a complaint, leading to a zero FIR being registered against the accused. The case has been transferred to the Amritsar Police Station for further investigation.
